Val demonstrating the Batik method of creating a picture.

Hot wax is used to act as a barrier on the silk carrier. Colours are dropped in as required.

The results are stunning.

Frances Beasley

Frances demonstrating her skills in creating a mixed media painting.

Frances refers to her collection of sketchbooks, photos and objects to create a unique design for a flower picture.

Original and beautiful.

Hilary Beal

Hilary, a skilled stained glass artist, brought along two pieces of ancient stained glass to refurbish. These panels were acquired from the Houses of Parliament.

Sarah Swaffer

Sarah, sitting in front of her stylish and unique exhibits, and wearing one of her designs.

You really need to look at her work up close to fully appreciate the level of skill required to produce the garments.

Susan Adcock

At her 'Meet the Artist' session, Susan brought along a painting she had prepared for the demonstration.

There was plenty of interest in the process of how she achieved the unique results.

Peter Swaffer

Peter Swaffer
Peter chose to demostrate his artistic talent by producing a wonderful charcoal drawing from his imagination.

Displayed behind him are just some examples of his work.

In addition to his oils, Peter has added a couple of pen and wash sketches.

Angela Lee

Picture
Angela Lee
Angela had a very willing model in the shape of Philip Cunningham who remained still while a charcoal drawing was produced.

As Angela has a couple of life paintings hanging in the gallery, we knew that this effort would be good. And we were not disappointed.

Sally Tyley

Picture
Sally Anne Tyler
Sally demonstrated the process involved in producing one of her geometric paintings.

A stretched canvas, watered-down soft acrylics, and many careful layers of paint.

A long process requiring patience and concentration.

But the end product was well worth it.
